Equine Assisted Practitioners Network Conference 2015

This weekend, I was lucky enough to be at the first EAPN conference. It was held by Claire Misson at Mirror Me near Reading. It was quite a trip (2 and a half hours each way for me!) but well worth it.

There were some wonderful presenters and they really got me thinking, particularly about how I look after my horses in this work. The first thing we do as LEAP practitioners is to go and 'Meet the Herd' to experience the horses as individual beings and see what is going on for them. If a horse doesn't want to work then we won't make them. I offer all of my horses Reiki if they want it, but they have an amazing capacity to heal themselves and literally 'shake off' anything they need to. This is one of the amazing things that we can learn from them.

I would be very interested to know what you think about the horse's role in this work?
