Posted 29 Aug 2018

The wonderful Owen Tooth of Toothpix recorded a video with us last year for a MOOC (massive open online course) for the University of Derby Online. You can still enrol on this FREE course that looks at a Compassionate View of Depression.

Depression is now classed as the main cause of disability worldwide, with an estimated 3.3 people in every 100 in the UK having depression according to the World Health Organisation (World Health Organisation, 2017). It is important to understand depression, its context and wider perspectives as well as being able to empathise with those whom experience depression. This MOOC offers a unique insight to depression by adopting a compassionate view. It focuses on raising the awareness of depression, and identifies unique skills to enhance care for people with depression.

Our video focuses on how equine and animal assisted therapy can benefit people affected by depression. Please have a look and let us know what you think! The turnaround time was short therefore editing time was limited – so be kind!
